High-impact athlete who has a chance to be a big contributor at defensive end, with the graduation of both of Mizzou's starting defensive ends from a year ago ... Had a labrum tear repaired in his left shoulder after the 2008 season, and was expected to be limited during spring, but he came out and gave a great effort during spring camp, and was very impressive ... Did well enough in the spring to lock down the #1 spot on the depth chart at one end position heading into fall camp ... Was named the recipient of the Male Courage Award at the first annual Mizzou ROARS Spring Awards Show, for his strength in overcoming adversity during his life, and for his drive to fight through injuries in his short time at Mizzou ... Recorded 50 tackles and notched 13 quarterback sacks at Pearl River Community College as a sophomore ... Was voted team MVP and also earned 1st-Team All-State and All-Region honors in his sophomore season ... As a freshman, had 11 sacks and was a 2nd-Team All-Region pick ... Was ranked as the No. 2 defensive end junior college prospect by one outlet, and had over 30 division I scholarship offers come his way.
