2009 OUTLOOK Walk-on quarterback prospect with good athleticism who is now the most veteran member of the MU signal callers, with his two years in the program ... Has a strong right arm, and has drawn rave reviews in the past from Coach Pinkel for his improvement ... Enters fall camp listed at No. 2 on the depth chart at quarterback, and is expected to provide some good competition and leadership for what is a very young and overall inexperienced group of quarterbacks ... Completed 10-of-21 passes in the spring game for 70 yards, and scored the only touchdown of the game on a one-yard keeper ... In a demonstration of his arm strength, one day after practice, won a competition between MU's quarterbacks (including current pros Chase Daniel and Chase Patton) that involved standing in the south endzone at Memorial Stadium, and throwing the ball completely over the south stands and out of the stadium (he was the only one who achieved the feat).
2008 SEASON Worked hard as part of the offensive scout team, drawing rave reviews for his efforts ... Won the team's Back Up Player of the Week Award for his efforts during game preparations leading up games against Buffalo and Kansas ... Completed one pass for 12 yards in the annual Black & Gold Spring Game in April.
2007 SEASON Joined the squad as a walk-on and did an admirable job of helping the Tiger defense prepare each week in practice, as he assisted by running the scout team offense.
HIGH SCHOOL Was a two-sport standout at Liberty High School in the Kansas City area, in both the sports of football and golf ... Passed for 1,700 yards with 18 touchdowns, while adding 10 rushing TDs, as a senior in 2006 to earn all-conference honors ... Junior season numbers included 1,500 passing yards and 15 TDs, with all-conference accolades again ... Was also an all-conference and all-district performer in the sport of golf at Liberty ...
