  • 2007 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention (Coaches, Associated Press)

2008 OUTLOOK
Honorable-mention All-Big 12 player from both league media and coaches a year ago who will look to step up his play in his senior season for a defense of which much is expected ... Established himself as an impact player last year, in his first season at defensive end, and is the incumbent starter at one end position, as he's listed atop the depth chart entering fall camp ... Should challenge for all-Big 12 honors again in 2008 ... Has a good combination of size, athleticism and speed that provides challenges for opposing offensive linemen ... Displayed that athleticism this past spring, when he teamed with Carl Gettis, Thomas Hellm and Coach Dave Christensen to win the team's annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament.

2007 SEASON
Productivity continued to increase, compiling 42 tackles this season ... Had season-best six tackles against Ole Miss ... Followed that with four stops agaisnt Western Michigan and added a sack ... Recorded back-to-back four-tackle games against Nebraska and Oklahoma ... Also had a sack in the win over Nebraska and had a pair of stops against Texas Tech ... Made three tackles against Iowa State and had four at Colorado ... Matched season-high with six tackles against Texas A&M ... Had two tackles in win over Kansas State and made one stop against Kansas ... Made three tackles at Big 12 Championship against Oklahoma.

2006 SEASON
Junior college transfer who made nice contributions on the defensive line ... Played both inside and at end throughout the year, and ended the year listed as the No. 2 DE behind Xzavie Jackson coming into the bowl game ... Saw action in all 13 games, and notched 16 tackles, with 10 of them coming in a productive four-game stretch from games No. 7-10 ... Had career-best four tackles at Texas A&M, and followed with a two-tackle day the next week versus Kansas State ... One of his stops vs. KSU might have been one of the biggest plays of the year by the Tiger defense, as he stuffed a K-State tailback on a fourth-and-goal try from the MU 1-yardline ... Had three stops at Nebraska and two each versus Colorado and Murray State.

JUNIOR COLLEGE
Was a standout defensive player for Kilgore College ... Junior College coach - Jim Reeves.

HIGH SCHOOL
Standout two-way starter who was a finalist for the Willie Ray Smith Award as a senior when he led his team in sacks and won 22A Super Team honors ... Was a three-year starter on varsity who led his team in QB sacks each of his last two years ... Lettered in track and powerlifting in addition to football at West Orange Stark High School ... Was a district shot put champion and also took second in the discus at that level ... Was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in his school's student council.

PERSONAL
Son of Marvis & Beth Brown ... Chose Mizzou over schools such as Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Houston, TCU and SMU ... Cousins Chris Cole and Giles Cole both play in the National Football League.
