2010 SEASON
Was in line to see a lot of playing time in his second year in the program, but was forced to take a redshirt when he suffered a season-ending knee injury during fall camp ... Changed his jersey to #15 after wearing #21 as a freshman.
2009 SEASON
Played in 12 games in his true freshman season, seeing most of his time on Tiger special teams units to get his feet wet in at the collegiate level ... Had nine tackles in all on the year, including six coming on special teams units, where he made his mark primarily on the kickoff coverage squad ... Had five stops on kickoffs, which ranked as 4th-most on the team ... Made three tackles in the season-opener against Illinois ... Had a season-best four stops against Furman on Sept. 19 ... Added one tackle in each of the games against Nevada and Oklahoma State.
HIGH SCHOOL
Ball-hawking defender who made his mark at Dallas' Lincoln High at safety ... ESPN.com said he displayed great break on the football and reacted well to the pass as an active free safety, and that he possessed soft hands, snatches the ball out of the air and was a real running threat once he makes the pick ... Won First-Team All-State and All-District honors as a senior, as he accounted for 91 tackles in 2008, to go with 23 pass break-ups and seven interceptions (two of which he returned for touchdowns), playing on a defense which led the state with 24 interceptions ... As a junior in 2007, tallied 32 tackles and grabbed five interceptions and was named a First-Team All-District selection ...
