Mark Alnutt is in his ninth year with the Missouri football program, including his seventh season as Director of Operations. His duties include coordinating the team's travel plans, oversight of the football budget, handling compliance issues, scheduling of facilities, assisting with recruiting operations and managing the day-to-day operations of the football program. He was awarded with a title of assistant athletic director in 2005.
Alnutt also coordinates all public relations activities and community service events that require the presence of football student-athletes, and oversaw all organizational aspects for Mizzou's trip to the 2003 and 2005 Independence Bowl games playedin Shreveport, La. He is also representing the football program as part of the design team that planned the future $16 million expansion and renovation project of the Tom Taylor Building, the facility which houses the football program.
Alnutt was a three-year letterman for the Tigers as a linebacker and tight end (1993-95), and was voted the team's Champion of the Year as a senior. He earned a degree in sociology in 1995 and went to work for Major Brands as a salesman in Kansas City from Feb. 1996-Aug. 1997. He then returned to MU to pursue a master's degree in public administration with an emphasis on sports psychology. He joined the MU football staff in 1998 as an administrative/video graduate assistant. Alnutt completed his master's in May 2000 and took over as Director of Football Operations that August.
A native of Kansas City, Alnutt was born Jan. 4, 1973. He serves as the president of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Boone County, and was selected to participate in the 2002-03 NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males. In June of 2005, he received recognition by Columbia Business Times as one of Columbia's 40-Under-40 business leaders, for his work in the community. He also participated in the Division I-A Athletic Director's Institute in July of 2005.
Alnutt is married to the former Kate Hankins, and has a five-year-old son, Jaren Michael, and a one-year-old daughter, Kinleigh Allyn.
