Columbia, Mo. - Keaton Grant, a 6-3, 185 pound guard from Kissimmee, FL, has signed a national letter of intent to attend to the University of Missouri, Head Basketball Coach Quin Snyder announced on Wednesday. Grant is the second member of the 2005-06 class to announce as Lafayette (St. Louis) High School standout Matt Lawrence announced his intentions of becoming a Tiger earlier this morning.

"Keaton brings a competitive attitude and positive leadership to the court," Snyder said. "He possesses a good blend of skill and explosiveness and I think he will fit in well with the team culture we have established here at Mizzou."

The 2003-04 Osceola Conference Player of the Year showcased his versatility, averaging 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists as a junior last year while primarily playing the point guard position for Gateway High School. The athletic guard led that squad to a 21-6 mark while knocking down 62 threes on the year under the tutelage of Coach Bob Baker.

He has started for Gateway in each of the last three seasons and has helped the program go from 10 wins as a freshman to 21 wins as a junior in 2003-04. One of the top players in Class 6A, Grant earned All-State First Team honors and is ranked as the No. 38 shooting guard nationally by heading into the 2004-05 campaign.

Grant is an excellent defender and has excellent ball handling skills. He was a member of Nike Team Florida and was a Nike All American in the state of Florida. He chose Missouri over Penn State, Tennessee, South Florida and Georgia Tech. For more information on Missouri Basketball, log on to the home of all things Mizzou on the web,
