Columbia, Mo. -
Aric Bremer, a 2003 graduate of the University of Missouri, has been named the new public address announcer for the 2010-11 Mizzou Basketball season.
A native of Sedalia, Bremer is an 11-year Columbia resident and is currently employed by the Zimmer Radio Group. He serves Columbia over the airwaves each weekday from 2-7 p.m. on 96.7 KCMQ and is the host of "Classic Clear with Aric Bremer" from 6-10 a.m. on Saturday mornings on Today's Best Country Clear 99.
"To be named the new Public Address Announcer for the MU Tiger Basketball Team is a dream job for me," Bremer said. "It's one of the reasons I got into the radio business 15 years ago. Mizzou is my alma mater and I have loved listening to Randy Wright at the Hearnes Center and at Mizzou Arena. My goals for this position are to serve the University and fans for the same kind of longevity as Randy and to do my part to make each game special for all in attendance. The season can't start soon enough...M-I-Z!"
Bremer replaces Randy Wright, who became the Executive Director - Division of Multi-Media Properties at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Bremer will make his public address debut on Thursday at the annual Black & Gold Game inside Mizzou Arena. Tip at the Black & Gold Game is slated for 7:30 p.m. and doors to the event will open at 6 p.m. The 2010-11 Tigers will be on the north concourse signing autographs for fans. Tickets for Thursday's game are just $5 and proceeds go to benefit the Boys and Girls Club. Tickets will be on sale at the door.
Parking at Mizzou Arena for this event is free.
Season tickets are still the best way to guarantee your seat for all the action this season and start for as low as $209 for select seats. Single-game tickets for Big 12 Conference games (with the exception of the March 5 contest against Kansas) will be available for purchase on December 1.
