Columbia, Mo. -

T.J. Cleveland has earned the reputation of being one of college basketball’s top young assistant coaches and after helping Mizzou to 54 wins the past two seasons it’s no shock Cleveland has become a popular figure in the Columbia community. But now Cleveland is tossing his hat into the cooking ring as he is one of six local celebrities participating in the Great American Burger Challenge at Stadium Grill in Columbia.

Cleveland’s burger “The Flying Tiger” is on sale now at Stadium Grill (1219 Fellow’s Place in Columbia)

and was developed by the fifth-year coach along with the chefs at the restaurant. The burger is topped with pineapple, ham and teriyaki sauce.

“It’s really good,” Cleveland said. “I had a chance to go into Stadium Grill and work with Chef Craig and we tried a lot of combinations. This was my favorite. It was a lot of fun and it’s all for a good cause.”

Cleveland joins Mike Kelly (Voice of the Tigers), Tom Bradley (Host of Tom Bradley in the Morning on 93.9 The Eagle), Bob McDavid (Columbia Mayor), Chris Belcher (Columbia Public Schools Superintendent) and Roger Wilson (former Missouri Governor) in this year’s challenge with proceeds going to support the winner’s charity of choice.

Cleveland’s is playing for Granny’s House, which provides a safe and nurturing place to help shape the children of Columbia. More information about the charity can be found at
