Aug. 4, 2011

Columbia, Mo. - The Big 12 Conference released its 2011-12 league schedule on Thursday and for the fourth consecutive season Missouri Basketball was the recipient of a record number of national television contests. Head Coach Frank Haith's crew will appear on national TV 11 times during league play this year, including two Big Monday games and a CBS showdown with the Kansas Jayhawks on Feb. 25.

Missouri will face Kansas on ESPN at home on Feb. 4, but that game time has yet to be announced.

This season marks the first under the Big 12's improved 18-game format. The Tigers will play nine league home games, including the opener on Jan. 4 vs. Lon Kruger and the Oklahoma Sooners. That date could be altered slightly for television consideration. Game date/time confirmation will come later this summer.

Missouri will play 10 games on ESPN's national platforms this year. Contests against Texas (Jan. 14), at Oklahoma State (Jan. 25), at home vs. Oklahoma State (Feb. 15) and at home vs. Kansas State (Feb. 21) will be televised by ESPN2. Games against Texas A&M (Jan. 16), at Baylor (Jan. 21), at Texas (Jan. 30) and home vs. Kansas (Feb. 4) will be on ESPN. The Feb. 18 road game at Texas A&M will either appear on ESPN or ESPN2. Network and game time information for the contest in College Station, Texas, will be finalized at a later date.

Missouri's Feb. 6 date at Oklahoma will be televised on ESPNU. Also played on a Monday, that game serves as the first part of a Big 12 double-header on the ESPN family of networks, preceding the Big Monday game on ESPN.

The Tigers also have six games appearing on the popular Big 12 Network package. Back-to-back road games at Kansas State (Jan. 7) and at Iowa State (Jan. 11) start the package. The team then hosts Texas Tech (Jan. 28), Baylor (Feb. 11) and Iowa State (Feb. 29), before finishing the regular season at Texas Tech on March 3.

Missouri officials are awaiting regional round game assignments for the 2011 CBE Classic. Those two preliminary round games will be played at Mizzou Arena in November. Once those games are finalized by tournament organizers Missouri's completed non-conference schedule will be released.

In addition, Missouri Basketball's season ticket renewal deadline is Aug. 19. Fans broke the Mizzou Arena attendance record in 2010-11 and the club returns nearly 90 percent of statistical totals from last year.
