Thomas Gardner Pours In 25 For Chicago Bulls Summer League
July 20, 2007 Salt Lake City, Utah. -
It's clear that former University of Missouri standout Thomas Gardner is getting more comfortable with each passing game as a member of the Chicago Bulls summer league squad. The Portland, Ore., native scored a summer-league high 25 points on 9-of-20 shooting, including 5-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc in Chicago's 96-89 loss to the Seattle Supersonics on Thursday.
Although the Rocky Mountain Revue box score says Gardner finished 7-of-20 from the floor for 21 points, the corrected box score shows Gardner with 25 tallies on 9-of-20 shooting from the field. The 25 points for Gardner led all scorers and his 34 minutes of playing time paced the Bulls once again, as he reached double figures for the fifth time in his last six contests this summer. Since the Bulls began play at the Rocky Mountain Revue (three games), Gardner has made all-three starts and is averaging a team-leading 17.6 points in a team-best 32 minutes per game.
In eight total summer league affairs (five games in Orlando and three in Salt Lake City), Gardner is averaging 12.4 points, which paces the club. Thabo Sefolosha is second on the club with 11.0 points per game through eight contests.
Chicago closes out play at the Rocky Mountain Revue on Friday when the Bulls take on the host Utah Jazz at 7 p.m. locally.
