Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Athletics announced an agreement with StatBroadcast Systems on Thursday, a new in-game statistical distribution system designed to deliver real time updates to media and fans during Mizzou Football, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Softball, Gymnastics and Soccer events.
This service will be free to media and fans.
This system will be available for all Missouri home events in the above sports and will be available on the road for current Tiger opponents partnering with StatBroadcast (currently all football games except road contests at Indiana and Mississippi and most men's basketball games, including North Carolina State and the SEC Tournament).
The service also provides a new level of mobile and desktop coverage to the sports of baseball, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and soccer. The new mobile fan site is available to most smartphones and tablet users (Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, etc).
"We are excited about our partnership with StatBroadcast," Associate Athletics Director for Communications Chad Moller said. "One of our focuses this offseason was to find an improved way for our fans to follow our sports from their mobile devices. We investigated a few options, but StatBroadcast allowed us to provide a service free of charge to our fans and allowed us to enhance in-game coverage for a greater number of sports. This was critical for us as the SEC Network comes aboard next year."
The direct link to the StatBroadcast mobile site for Mizzou Athletics will be www.MizzouStats.com and will come online in August. Fans can browse demos of the StatBroadcast mobile site by clicking HERE. After clicking on the main demo page fans can select "Today's Events" and then click on the demo they would like view. To navigate between pages for a specific sport click on "menu" in the top left corner.
CBS Gametracker will also continue to be available to fans and media, but the Tapstats mobile application used in previous years on iPhone and iPad devices will no longer be in service.
