Kim English has enjoyed a great start to his professional career and has continued to play the unselfish brand of basketball in his first week of NBA Summer League that made him the No. 44 pick of the Detroit Pistons in last month's NBA Draft.
English and his Pistons teammates recently completed play in the Orlando Summer League with a 4-1 overall record, tops in the league with Boston, and English finished his five games averaging 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

July 9 - Detroit 76, Utah 73
English opened his professional career on July 9 with a matchup against former Mizzou teammate and Utah Jazz small forward DeMarre Carroll. English earned the start and scored a game high 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting in the 76-73 win. The Baltimore native swished home 3-of-4 treys and added three assists and two rebounds in 30 minutes of playing time. Highlights and Box Score.
Carroll, who saw increased playing time in Utah last season, helping the Jazz to the playoffs in 2012 scored five points and added three assists in nearly 20 minutes.
July 10 - Detroit 79, Orlando 74
English and Detroit improved to 2-0 with a 79-74 come-from-behind win. The Pistons trailed 62-60 heading into the final period, but outscored Orlando 19-12 in the final frame to earn the win. English was taken out of the flow early on with a couple of quick fouls, but still played 24 minutes and scored six points. Highlights and Box Score.
July 11 - Oklahoma City 83, Detroit 62
Detroit suffered its first summer league loss 83-62 to Oklahoma City. The Thunder jumped up 26-17 in the first quarter and outscored the Pistons in each frame to earn the21-point win. English showed solid all-around play and scored seven points in a start. He also added five boards and two assists in 28 minutes. Highlights and Box Score.
July 12 - Detroit 93, Boston 79
Detroit rebounded nicely and pushed its summer league record to 3-1 with a dominating 93-79 win over Boston. English continued to flash his all-around abilities and scored nine points, while grabbing eight boards in the win. English led all players with 35 minutes played and the Pistons outscored Boston by 16 when the Baltimore native was on the court. Highlights and Box Score
July 13 - Detroit 71, Philadelphia 67
Kim English scored a game high 17 points and hit four triples as Detroit rallied from a big early-game deficit to defeat Philadelphia 71-67. English was hot early on hitting four of his first five treys in the victory and kept the Pistons in the game before the rally. Austin Daye added 10 points and 11 boards for Detroit who finished the Orlando Summer League with a 4-1 mark. Highlights and Box Score
