Mizzou at the Orlando Summer League (July 10, 2014)

Missouri Basketball has been well-represented in the Orlando Summer League (July 5-11) with three former Tigers seeing extensive action. Jabari Brown (Houston Rockets), Kim English (Orlando Magic) and Phil Pressey (Boston Celtics) have each started for their respective clubs throughout the six-day league and all three are playing well as they eye a spot on their respective team's opening-day rosters.

Jabari Brown, Houston Rockets
Brown, a free agent signee for Houston scored 16 points in a loss on Wednesday to Philadelphia. The shooting guard scored 12 of his 16 points in the opening quarter and helped Houston to an early double-figure lead. Overall Brown is averaging 9.3 points in three games and has been good attacking the rim and getting to the foul line averaging nearly five free throw attempts per game. Brown and the Rockets return to action Thursday night against Memphis at 6 p.m. CT.

Phil Pressey, Boston Celtics
Pressey has been the top former Tiger in this year's Orlando Summer League and has made three starts, averaging 12.0 points and 3.7 assists per contest. Pressey has reached double figures in scoring twice in three games and dished seven assists in a league-opening win over Miami. Pressey is hitting 46 percent of his shots from the floor, including 6-10 shooting in a win against Detroit. Overall the Celtics are 2-1 through three games and play this afternoon (4 p.m. CT) vs. Kim English and Orlando.

Kim English, Orlando Magic
Like Brown and Pressey, English has made three starts for his team and is shooting 47 percent from the floor overall. English is also shooting 33.3 percent from three-point range, helping Orlando to a 2-1 overall record. After the Orlando Summer League has been completed English will move on to Las Vegas where he is scheduled to play for the Washington Wizards. That Summer League starts on Friday.
