Dates Set For Second Annual Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series

Irving, Texas - The Big 12 and Pacific-10 Conferences announced the dates and matchups for the 2008 Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series and have the Missouri Tigers hosting the California Golden Bears on Sunday, Dec. 7 at Mizzou Arena.

The Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series enters its second year in 2008. The Pac-10 held a 7-5 advantage over the Big 12 last season, but Big 12 schools posted an 11-8 advantage between the two conferences throughout the regular season, including an 6-1 advantage outside of the event.

Missouri traveled to Cal last season and fell by an 86-72 margin. Matt Lawrence led the Tigers with 17 points in that contest on 5-of-11 shooting from three-point range, while fellow 2008-09 returnees Leo Lyons (12), DeMarre Carroll (14) and Keon Lawrence (11) all reached double figures.

The majority of the games for the Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series are scheduled for December 4-7, with three meetings taking place outside the four-day series window. Each matchup is a return contest from 2007. The 2009 games in the series will be played December 3-6, while meetings in 2010 will take place December 2-5. After this season, new pairings will be in place for the next two years of the arrangement.

Additional components of the series, including the times and television information will be announced at a later date.
