Columbia, Mo. - Missouri Basketball announced on Thursday that it will compete in the 2010 Cancun Challenge on Nov. 23-24 just outside of Cancun, Mexico, at the Aventura Palace and Spa.

Travel packages and tickets for the 2010 Cancun Challenge can be purchased by visiting www.cancunchallenge.net or by contacting Director Melissa Koza at 970-672-0567.

A complete field for the Thanksgiving Week event is still being finalized, but other teams currently scheduled to participate include Providence, LaSalle, Wyoming and North Florida. Contracts with three other teams are currently being completed, but as part of the agreement Missouri will get home games vs. two of the seven remaining opponents at Mizzou Arena prior to traveling to Cancun.

Each team competing in the 2010 Cancun Challenge will play two games on campus sites before playing two games at the Aventura Palace just outside of Cancun.

The Aventura Palace location is new for this year's event and Tiger fans that had previously made arrangements to stay at the Moon Palace, the location for the 2009 Cancun Challenge, are encouraged to have their hotel arrangement switched in advance of the tournament. The Moon Palace and Aventura Palace are sister properties and will be working together since the Moon Palace was selected to be the host site of the United Nations Climate Summit in late November.
