Arlington, Texas -
The Big 12 Conference announced pairings for the 2009 Big 12/Pac-Ten Hardwood Series on Monday afternoon and Missouri will face the Oregon Ducks on Saturday, Dec. 5, at Mizzou Arena.
The game time will be announced at a later day.
The Tigers are 3-0 all-time vs. Oregon and are 1-1 in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series following last season’s 93-66 win over California at Mizzou Arena.
Missouri Basketball is coming off a school-record 31-7 mark last year, which culminated with a berth into the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight. The Tigers also claimed the 2009 Big 12 Conference Tournament Championship, their first in school history.
Oregon finished the 2008-09 campaign 8-23 overall and 2-16 in Pac-10 Conference play. The Ducks faced two teams from the Big 12 last season, falling 70-57 to Texas at the EA Sports Maui Invitational and defeating Kansas State 75-70 at home in the Hardwood Series. Oregon is 2-0 all-time in the Hardwood Series, earning wins over K-State the last two years.
Oregon expects to be a much-improved team in 2009-10 with the return of all-five starters and 12-of-14 players. Tajuan Porter (senior in 2009-10) needs just four treys to become the Ducks’ all-time leader in three-point field goals and averaged 15.4 points per game last year.
