Columbia, Mo. - DeMarre Carroll hit 8-of-11 shots and scored 18 points to lead his club (Portsmouth Partnership) to a 90-80 win over the Tidewater Sealants in the opening day of action at the Portsmouth Invitational.

The Birmingham, Ala., native also chipped in six boards in 26 minutes, while handing out three assists and blocking two shots in a stellar all-around effort.

Former Virginia Tech standout AD Vassallo added 21 points for the Partnership, including 3-of-6 three-point shooting.

Augusta State 7-footer Garret Siler and Wyoming's Brandon Ewing each scored 13 points for the Sealants, who trailed by just one (37-36) at the half, before being outscored 53-44 over the final 20 minutes.

Carroll's club returns to action on Friday night vs. Sales Systems, Ltd at 6 p.m. CT. Fellow Tiger Leo Lyons begins his play at Portsmouth tonight at 8 p.m. Lyons' Portsmouth Sports Club faces off against Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
