Tigers Host Cyclones on Senior Night at Mizzou Arena...
> The 7th/8th-ranked Missouri Tigers (25-4 overall, 12-4 in Big 12 Conference play) return home for one last time this season, as they play host to the Iowa State Cyclones (21-8, 11-5) in a pivotal matchup Wednesday night at Mizzou Arena. Tipoff for the 2011-12 home finale is set for 7 p.m., with the game being televised on the Big 12 Network...

> Mizzou is looking to bounce back from its first losing streak of the season, as the Tigers dropped a pair of games last week - 78-68 in Columbia on Feb. 21st to Kansas State, followed by a gut-wrenching 87-86 overtime loss last Saturday at #4 Kansas. The Tigers played some of their best ball of the entire season in that game in Lawrence, as they surged to a 19-point lead at one point early in the second half, only to see the Jayhawks whittle the lead down and eventually force overtime. Several tough breaks went against Mizzou down the stretch, and KU took an 87-86 lead with 8 seconds left on a pair of free throws, and MU's Marcus Denmon, who finished with a game-high 28 points, hit a 15-footer but it came after the buzzer and the Tigers fell out of contention for the Big 12 title...

> The Tigers will have no time to feel sorry for themselves, because Iowa State comes to Columbia as one of the top teams in the league this season. The Cyclones, under former ISU standout player Fred Hoiberg, have won 3 straight games - and 7 of their last 9 overall - and they come to Columbia knowing that a win on Wednesday would tie them with Mizzou in the league standings...

Senior Night to Honor Winningest Class in MU History...
> Tiger fans need to be in their seats by 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in order to properly help send out the winningest class in school history, as it's Senior Night at Mizzou Arena. An 8-man class will be recognized prior to the game - a nucleus of which has won a school-record 102 games in the last four seasons (breaking the old standard of 100)...

> This class has helped Mizzou to an amazing 66-4 record at Mizzou Arena over the past four seasons, to a 2009 Big 12 Tournament Championship, and they'll soon be making their 4th-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament...

> Among those being honored are G Marcus Denmon (9th on MU's alltime scoring list), G Kim English (13th on MU's alltime scoring list), F Ricardo Ratliffe (on pace to break the MU shooting % record), G Matt Pressey (Dallas, Texas), F Steve Moore (Kansas City, Mo.), G Jarrett Sutton (Kansas City, Mo.), as well as F Andy Rosburg (St. Louis, Mo.) and F Andrew Jones (Smithville, Mo.). Additionally, senior student managers Charlie Ferreti (St. Louis, Mo.) and John Poettgen (Freeburg, Mo.) are being recognized in the pre-game ceremonies...

Mizzou A Mainstay in the Rankings...
> While there is much more work to be done by the 2011-12 Missouri Tigers, there is no disputing that this group of players and coaches have already established themselves as one of the top teams in MU history, especially when measured by the standard of national rankings...

> After beginning the season with modest outside expectations, and a No. 25 national pre-season ranking by the Associated Press, the Tigers moved up to No. 24 after one week, and slid up to No. 21 after a 3-0 start. After impressive blowout wins in Kansas City over California and Notre Dame, the Tigers shot up to No. 13 in the AP poll, and one week later found themselves at No. 10 on Dec. 5th. They have not given up a stranglehold on the top-10 ranking since, climbing as high as No. 2 on Jan. 23rd...

> Mizzou's 13-consecutive weeks in the top-10 is only two shy of the school record of 15 set back in the 1989-90 season - a team which finished 26-6 overall and featured Tiger legends such as Doug Smith, Anthony Peeler and others. MU's pair of losses last week dropped them out of the top-5 after 6-straight weeks perched there, which marked the longest consecutive run in the top-5 for MU since that same 1989-90 unit was there for 8-straight weeks at one point...
