> Mizzou Basketball will look to bounce back from a rare home defeat on Saturday afternoon as the Tigers make their first-ever trip to Auburn, Ala., to face the Auburn Tigers ... Missouri and Auburn are meeting for just the second time in series history, which makes this series Mizzou’s least played in the SEC thus far.
> In fact, Missouri is playing its first game in the state of Alabama since the 2000 NCAA Tournament ... The Tigers fell to North Carolina, 84-70, in Birmingham that season ... Each of Mizzou’s last two trips to the state of Alabama came in postseason play ... MU fell at Alabama (72-49) in the 1996 NIT.
> Missouri is 1-0 on the road this year following a 68-64 win at N.C. State on Dec. 28 ... The last time Missouri opened with consecutive road wins was 2003-04 when it won at Oakland (90-85) and at Indiana (63-58) early in non-league play.
> Mizzou has not won its league road opener since 2009-10 ... The Tigers won at Texas Tech that year, 94-89, in overtime ... Overall Mizzou has been solid on the road under Frank Haith, winning 10 times in two-plus seasons.
> Saturday’s game pits the SEC’s top two scoring tandems, Mizzou’s Jordan Clarkson (18.8) and Jabari Brown (18.4) and Auburn’s Chris Denson (19.8) and KT Harrell (18.7) ... They join Duke’s Jabari Parker (21.4) and Rodney Hood (18.5) as the lone sets of high major teammates to average 18.0+ points per game this season.
> Both Clarkson and Brown have reached double figures in all-14 games played this season ... The last time a Tiger opened the year with 14 consecutive double-figure scoring games was Rickey Paulding in 2002-03 ... The last Tiger to open a season with 15 consecutive double-figure scoring games was Kareem Rush (21 consecutive) in 2000-01.
> Missouri has used its 12-2 start to earn a Top 25 billing by both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls ... The Tigers have been ranked each season under Haith despite having just one starter back each of the last two years.
> As mentioned, the Tigers have just one starter returning from last season’s 23-11 team (Jabari Brown) and no players are back that saw action on that 30-5 club during the 2011-12 campaign ... In fact, Missouri’s top scorer (Clarkson), rebounder (Williams III) and assist man (Clarkson) have all played less than one full season for the Tigers ... Missouri (1) and Kansas (0) are the only clubs in college basketball currently ranked with one or fewer starters back from last season.
> Saturday’s game is of course a return to Auburn for senior guard Earnest Ross ... The Cary, N.C., native continues to produce career numbers for Missouri this year, averaging 14.1 points and 6.3 rebounds ... His 14.1 points ranks No. 15 in SEC play and his 6.3 boards ranks No. 14 and is the top rebounding total amongst guards ... Ross currently ranks No. 4 among active scorers in the league with 1,045 points and No. 3 among active rebounders with 561 ... Ross scored 498 points and grabbed 302 rebounds in two seasons at Auburn (2009-11).
Mizzou Basketball Cliffs...

> Mizzou has been outstanding at bouncing back following a loss under Frank Haith ... The Tigers are 15-2 all-time after a defeat under Haith and have never lost more than two games in a row under the guidance of the third-year coach.
> Earlier this season Mizzou rallied back from a 65-64 loss to Illinois in St. Louis on Dec. 21 to win at N.C. State (68-64) on Dec. 28.
> The Tigers are looking for back-to-back road wins for the first time since 2011-12 ... The Tigers won seven road games that year and enjoyed a streak of three consecutive road triumphs at Texas, at Oklahoma and at Texas A&M.
> Saturday’s game marks the first of back-to-back road games ... The Tigers finish the quick road swing on Thursday at Vanderbilt.
> Missouri once again ranks among the nation’s best in rebounding ... The Tigers average 28.4 defensive boards per game, tied with Kentucky for the league lead and No. 17 nationally.
> Mizzou has used the same starting lineup in all-14 games this season.
> The Tigers continue to be a developing defensive team heading into league play ... Mizzou has not allowed their last five opponents to score more than 70 points and just one opponent has reached 80 points all season (Hawaii).
> Over its last five games, Missouri is allowing 63.6 points on 37.5 percent shooting from the floor and 28.4 percent shooting from three-point range.
> How good has Jabari Brown been in the clutch? The junior guard is a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range in his last four games in the final three minutes of the contest and is 5-of-7 from three in the final nine minutes during that stretch.
> Brown recorded his 10th career 20-point effort in the win over Long Beach State ... The Oakland, Calif., native scored 22 points, including a critical three-point field goal with 2:18 remaining to help the Tigers finish non-league play at 12-1.
> He narrowly missed a second consecutive 20-point effort against Georgia, scoring 19 points in 40 minutes of work.
> Missouri recorded a rare ACC road win on Dec. 28 at N.C. State ... Although the Tigers haven’t played many road games in ACC territory, the win in Raleigh was the second in ACC country in program history ... Mizzou won 87-73 at Maryland on Jan. 24, 1989 ... It was the club’s first non-league road win since a 75-68 win at Old Dominion on Dec. 30, 2011.
> Head Coach Frank Haith will coach his 309th career game overall and is a spectacular 60-18 in three seasons at Mizzou ... Haith was the fastest coach in school history to 50 wins and has just one starter back for the second consecutive campaign.
> Missouri has done a good job defensively over its last seven games ... The Tigers faced two of the nation’s top scoring teams, West Virginia (85.1 ppg) and UCLA (90.6 ppg) and held the two clubs a combined 35 points below their scoring norms ... Mizzou also held Western Michigan 10.6 points below its season scoring average, Illinois 6.5 points below its norm, N.C. State 13.0 points below its average and Long Beach State 8.3 points below its average.
> Missouri is being led in scoring by the dynamic junior tandem of Jordan Clarkson (18.8 ppg) and Jabari Brown (18.4) ... The duo is combining for 37.2 points per game, No. 2 in the Southeastern Conference, just behind the Auburn duo of KT Harrell and Chris Denson ... Clarkson’s 18.8 points per game is No. 4 in the SEC and Brown ranks No. 6.
> The pair is one of three teammate tandems in high-major college basketball averaging 18.0+ points per game.
> Mizzou plays in the friendly confines of Mizzou Arena where the club is 41-2 since 2011-12 and went a perfect 17-0 at home last season.
> Mizzou boasts a 145-22 (.870) record at home since the building opened in 2004-05 ... The Tigers are also 92-5 at home since 2008-09, amounting to an incredible .950 winning percentage.
> Non-conference opponents have not enjoyed their stops in Columbia, Mo., over the last few seasons and the Tigers have raced to an incredible 81 consecutive wins at home vs. non-league opposition since the end of the 2005-06 campaign ... Missouri’s last non-conference loss at home came vs. Sam Houston State in the 2005 Preseason NIT, but since then, Missouri has gone nearly eight full seasons without a loss.
> That non-conference win streak is No. 2 nationally behind Duke ... Duke has won 109 consecutive non-ACC games at home.
> Jordan Clarkson recorded the first 30-point game of the SEC season on Nov. 12 and logged the 26th 30-point game during Missouri’s SEC / Big 12 eras ... Clarkson needed just 18 shots to reach 31 points (12-of-18 FGs), and is one of just two Tigers during the two eras to have 30+ points, 5+ assists and zero turnovers ... Clarence Gilbert had a ridiculous 43 points, nine assists and zero turnovers vs. Iowa State in a four overtime win on Jan. 13, 2001.
> Clarkson has topped 20 points in seven of his last 10 games ... The junior has topped 20 points eight times in 13 games overall.
> Head Coach Frank Haith enters his third season at Missouri and will look to lead the Tigers to their third consecutive 20-win campaign ... Only Norm Stewart, Quin Snyder and Mike Anderson have enjoyed three 20-win seasons at Mizzou ... Stewart of course led the way with 17 20-win campaigns ... Snyder and Anderson each had three.
> Missouri has won at historic levels over the last five seasons ... In fact the Tigers have won 23+ games each of the last five seasons.
> The five consecutive 20-win seasons is a school record and Missouri’s five consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament is the longest active streak in the Southeastern Conference.
> Mizzou Arena has been the site of two undefeated home seasons in its history ... Missouri was 18-0 in 2008-09 and was 17-0 at home last season ... Hearnes Center, the former home of Missouri Basketball, was the site of five undefeated home campaigns (1974-75, 1980-81, 1988-89, 1989-90 and 1993-94).
> Since 2006-07 (72-0) the club’s margin of victory has been 25.8 points in those non-league home tilts.
> Mizzou will have two transfers sitting out this season ... Zach Price transferred from Louisville, where the 6-foot-10 forward was a member of the Cardinals’ NCAA National Championship team ... Deuce Bello transferred from Baylor ... Both will be classified as redshirt juniors next season.
> Mizzou will be on national television a school-record 20 times this season ... That number has grown each of Mizzou’s two years in the SEC ... The Tigers were on national TV 18 times last season, which was also a school record.
> Mizzou was picked fifth in the Southeastern Conference’s preseason media poll ... Kentucky was the projected league champion.
