For Openers...
> Happy New Year Tiger Nation as Missouri Basketball returns home for its final non-conference game of the 2013-14 campaign ... Mizzou plays at home for the first time since a Dec. 15 win against Western Michigan and the Tigers face Long Beach State for the third time in series history (2-0) ... A win over the 49ers (winners of three straight) would push Mizzou’s non-league record to 12-1, the best since the club went 13-0 in 2011-12.
> Missouri Basketball finished the 2013 calendar year a perfect 17-0 at home and owns a 25-game homecourt winning streak at Mizzou Arena dating back to the final home game of the 2011-12 campaign ... That winning streak ranks No. 1 nationally ... The 25 consecutive home wins is the fourth-longest streak in school history and is the longest since the team won 32 consecutive home games from 2007-2010 ... Stephen F. Austin's 24-game home court streak ranks No. 2 nationally, tied with Duke and just ahead of Arkansas (22).
> Mizzou has been very good at home under Head Coach Frank Haith's teams ... The Tigers are 40-1 at Mizzou Arena since 2011-12 and were a perfect 17-0 at home last season.
> The Tigers are looking for their eighth consecutive perfect record at Mizzou Arena during non-conference play ... The Tigers have raced to an incredible 80 consecutive wins at home vs. non-league opposition since the end of the 2005-06 campaign ... Missouri's last non-conference loss at home came vs. Sam Houston State in the 2005 Preseason NIT.
> Mizzou boasts a 144-21 (.880) record at home since the building opened in 2004-05 ... The Tigers are also 91-4 at home since 2008-09, amounting to an incredible .960 winning percentage.
> Jordan Clarkson won his third SEC Player of the Week honor on Monday ... Clarkson is the league's first three-time award winner this season and recorded his eighth 20-point scoring game of the season vs. North Carolina State ... Clarkson scored 21 points and dished four assists in Mizzou's 68-64 win in Raleigh.
> Missouri has used its 11-1 start to earned a Top 25 billing by both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls ... The Tigers have been ranked each season under Haith despite having just one starter back each of the last two years.
> Earnest Ross continues to produce career numbers for Missouri this season ... The senior has 1,014 career points, which is fourth among active Southeastern Conference players and his 550 career rebounds ranks No. 3 ... Of course Ross began his career at Auburn, so each of his four seasons have been played in the SEC.
> As mentioned, the Tigers have just one starter returning from last season's 23-11 team (Jabari Brown) and no players are back that saw action on that 30-5 club during the 2011-12 campaign ... In fact, Missouri's top scorer (Clarkson), rebounder (Williams III) and assist man (Clarkson) have all played less than one full season for the Tigers ... Missouri (1) and Kansas (0) are the only clubs in college basketball currently ranked with one or fewer starters back from last season.

Mizzou Basketball Cliffs...
> Mizzou Basketball will play its first home game in 20 days on Saturday as the Tigers face Long Beach State on Jan. 4 at Mizzou Arena ... The Tigers split a pair of games away from home during the break, including a thrilling 68-64 road win at North Carolina State on Dec. 28.
> Missouri used clutch shooting and timely defensive stops to get the victory in Raleigh ... In fact, Mizzou has been good in the final minutes of games this year despite a last-second loss to Illinois ... Missouri is shooting 55 percent from the floor and 56 percent from three-point range in the final five minutes of games this year ... The Tigers are also shooting 77 percent from the foul line during that time.
> The victory produced a rare ACC road win for Missouri, although the Tigers haven't played many road games in ACC territory ... The win in Raleigh was the second in ACC country in program history ... Mizzou won 87-73 at Maryland on Jan. 24, 1989 ... It was the club's first non-league road win since a 75-68 win at Old Dominion on Dec. 30, 2011.
> With the win, Missouri improved to 15-2 in games immediately following a loss under Frank Haith ... The club also earned its 10th road win in two-plus seasons (10-11) ... Mizzou had just 16 total road wins in the five seasons before Haith's arrival.

> Head Coach Frank Haith will coach his 307th career game overall vs. Long Beach State and is a spectacular 59-17 in three seasons at Mizzou ... Haith was the fastest coach in school history to 50 wins and has just one starter back for the second consecutive campaign.
> Missouri has done a good job defensively over its last five games ... The Tigers faced two of the nation's top scoring teams, West Virginia (85.1 ppg) and UCLA (90.6 ppg), but held the two clubs a combined 35 points below their scoring norms ... Mizzou also held Western Michigan 10.6 points below its season scoring average, Illinois 6.5 points below its norm and N.C. State 13.0 points below its average.
> Missouri is being led in scoring by the dynamic junior tandem of Jordan Clarkson (20.0 ppg) and Jabari Brown (18.1) ... The duo is combining for 38.1 points per game, tops in the Southeastern Conference (tied with the Auburn duo of KT Harrell and Chris Denson) ... Clarkson's 20.0 points per game is tops in the SEC.
> The pair is one of four teammate tandems in high-major college basketball averaging 18.0+ points per game.
> Mizzou plays in the friendly confines of Mizzou Arena where the club is 40-1 since 2011-12 and went a perfect 17-0 at home last season.
> Mizzou boasts a 144-21 (.880) record at home since the building opened in 2004-05 ... The Tigers are also 91-4 at home since 2008-09, amounting to an incredible .960 winning percentage.
> Non-conference opponents have not enjoyed their stops in Columbia, Mo., over the last few seasons and the Tigers have raced to an incredible 80 consecutive wins at home vs. non-league opposition since the end of the 2005-06 campaign ... Missouri's last non-conference loss at home came vs. Sam Houston State in the 2005 Preseason NIT, but since then, Missouri has gone nearly eight full seasons without a loss.
> Jordan Clarkson recorded the first 30-point game of the SEC season on Nov. 12 and logged the 26th 30-point game during Missouri's SEC / Big 12 eras ... Clarkson needed just 18 shots to reach 31 points (12-of-18 FGs), and is one of just two Tigers during the two eras to have 30+ points, 5+ assists and zero turnovers ... > Missouri has won at historic levels over the last five seasons ... In fact the Tigers have won 23+ games each of the last five seasons.
> The five consecutive 20-win seasons is a school record and Missouri's five consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament is the longest active streak in the Southeastern Conference.
> Mizzou Arena has been the site of two undefeated home seasons in its history ... Missouri was 18-0 in 2008-09 and was 17-0 at home last season ... Hearnes Center, the former home of Missouri Basketball, was the site of five undefeated home campaigns (1974-75, 1980-81, 1988-89, 1989-90 and 1993-94).
