MIZZOU VS. MERCER GAME NOTES
Missouri 81, Mercer 63
Missouri is making a record fourth appearance in the CBE Classic (formerly known as the Guardians Classic) following appearances in 2001, 2004 and 2007.
With the victory, the Tigers picked up their record 10th win in the event and improved to 10-3 all-time in the Classic.
Mizzou upped its non-conference home court winning streak to 60 games against Mercer, a school record, which dates back to the 2005-06 season.
Mizzou improved to 4-0 all-time against Mercer. The previous three meetings all took place in Columbia in the mid-90s.
Missouri made 11 3-pointers on the night on 11-of-22 shooting from beyond the arc. The 11 threes were the most for the Tigers since the team 12 against North Alabama on Jan. 5 of last year. Additionally, the game marked the first time Mizzou shot at least 50 percent from three since Dec. 18 of last year, when the team made 13-of-26 against Central Arkansas.
Sophomore Phil Pressey scored a career high 22 points on 6-of-11 shooting. The total surpassed his previous high of 17 set at Kansas last season.
Senior Ricardo Ratliffe grabbed a career high three steals against the Bears, besting his previous high of two that he set against Vanderbilt last season.
Four different Tigers (Phil Pressey, Kim English, Michael Dixon and Marcus Denmon) reached double figures for the second time in two games this season. Last season, the Tigers accomplished this feat 22 times in 34 games.
