Central Missouri State at Missouri (Exhibition)

Columbia, Mo. - Paige Sports Arena

November 4, 2004

Game Notes

The last meeting between the two teams was a regular-season contest on November 27, 1993, which the Tigers won 69-66.

The Tigers lead the all-time regular-season series 10-2. Tonight's game does not count in that total.

Tonight's game was the first official contest in the Paige Sports Arena. The Missouri basketball program called the Hearnes Center home for 32 years before moving into the PSA.

Missouri Team Notes

The Tigers are 16-2 all-time in regular-season games against teams from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).

The Tigers' 55.1 field goal percentage is their highest in their last five games. They show 60.0 percent against Texas A&M on March 11, 2004.

Before tonight, Mizzou hadn't scored 100 points in a game since notching 106 in their victory over UNC-Greensboro on December 21, 2003.

As a team, the Tigers dished off 25 assists against Central Missouri State, equaling the season-high from 2003-04, which was set in the win over UNLV.

Missouri Player Notes

Junior guard Jimmy McKinney and sophomore forward/center Linas Kleiza were both named to the preseason All-Big 12 Honorable Mention team.

The first blocked shot in Paige Sports Arena History came at 14:47 of the first half from junior center Jeffrey Ferguson.

The first three-point field goal in Paige Sports Arena history came at 14:40 of the first half, when sophomore guard Spencer Laurie converted on an open look from the right wing. It was Laurie's first three-point field goal since February 10, 2004 against Colorado.

The first points of freshman center Kalen Grimes' career came at 11:36 of the first half. Grimes scored on a layup and was fouled, then completed the three-point play with his first free throw in a Tiger uniform.

Freshman forward Glen Dandridge collected the first points of his Tiger career on a layup at 9:37 of the first half.

Sophomore forward Linas Kleiza's two first-half steals matched the career high he set last year against Illinois.

The first three-point field goal of freshman guard Jason Horton's career came at 19:32 of the first half, off of a dish from sophomore forward Linas Kleiza.

Sophomore forward Linas Kleiza's 19 points would have been a new career high had tonight's game not been an exhibition contest. Kleiza's three blocked shots also would have been a new career benchmark.

Senior guard Jason Conley's four assists would have tied his career high, set twice last season, if tonight's contest had been a regular-season game.

Junior center Jeffrey Ferguson's 11 points would have been a new career-best if tonight's contest wasn't an exhibition game.

Central Missouri State Team Notes

The Mules are 10-23 all-time against Big 12 opponents in the regular season.

Central Missouri State head coach Kim Anderson was a Tiger assistant when the two teams last faced off. Anderson is also a former Mizzou player, and currently ranks 22nd on the school's all-time scoring list.

Mules assistant coach Lamont Frazier (1991-94) and senior center Pat Schumacher (1999-2000) are both former Tiger players.

The Mules shot 44.1 percent from the field in the second half, after connecting on only 26.9 percent of their shots in the first stanza.

The Mules were a perfect 12-for-12, and shot 90.5 percent, from the charity stripe in the second half of tonight's contest.

Central Missouri State Player Notes

Junior forward Dwight Williams' two first-half assists were more than he had in any of the Mules' games last season, as were his three first-half rebounds. His second-half three point field goal was the first of his career.

Junior guard Michael Hicks fired off a game-high 21 points in his Central Missouri State debut. He also played a team-high 25 minutes.
