He then spent the 2010-2011 season working for the front office as a Basketball Operations Assistant. Reporting to the Director of College Scouting, he helped to evaluate college prospects from around the country and manage the Bulls' scouting database.
Tibaldi has been around the sport of basketball for most of his life as he was a standout at Traverse City West Senior High School. He continued his career as a walk-on and two-year letterwinner as a guard at Michigan State University under Head Coach Tom Izzo.
After playing at MSU, Tibaldi remained part of the team, serving as a Graduate Assistant from 2007-2009. During this time, Tibaldi gained invaluable experience assisting the coaching staff with practice, on-campus recruiting and scouting. He gained a strong background in video as he played a large role in assisting the team's video coordinator in breaking down game and practice film for self and opponent scouting purposes. The Spartans went 58-16 over the two year span, including a special 2008-2009 season that saw the Spartans win the Big Ten regular season title and finish the year as National Runner-Up. In the spring of 2009, Tibaldi earned his M.S. in Kinesiology from the graduate program at Michigan State.
