increase his production in the middle ... Gives Tigers much-needed size

1999-2000 SEASON - Played in 25 contests as a sophomore, and averaged 1.6
points and 1.3 rebounds per game ... Was slowed by a shoulder injury at the
beginning of the season ... Closed out the year with seven points in the
NCAA Tournament against North Carolina (on 3-of-3 FGs), including two dunks
vs. the Tarheels ... Saw action in both Big 12 Tournament games, and totaled
4 rebounds in the 2 contests (including 3 vs. Texas Tech in the opener) ...
Had 2 pts. at Kansas on March 5th, scoring a layup off a feed from Kareem
Rush ... Could play only 2 minutes at KU, however, due to picking up 3 quick
fouls ... Had arguably his most impressive performance of the year, as he
scored 6 pts. and grabbed 2 rebs. in 11 minutes vs. OSU on Feb. 21st ... Had
solid performance vs. Texas, where he scored 2 pts. and had 1 rebound and 1
steal vs. the Longhorns ... Hit 2-of-2 free throws with 9:15 left in the
game, and gave smallish Tigers a presence in the middle against UT star
Chris Mihm ... Underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder just
prior to the beginning of the season, and spent much of the early part of
the campaign trying to regain his strength ... Ranked 3rd on the team with 8
blocked shots ... Played 6 quality minutes at Iowa State, and had two
rebounds and added two blocked shots ... Played 13 minutes vs. Morgan State
on Nov. 27th, and had a season-high eight points and seven rebounds, the
latter of which represented a career high.
1998-99 SEASON - Served as the top understudy to Tiger senior center Monte
Hardge ... Saw action in all but one game on the year, and showed a nice
shooting touch ... Led MU with a 54.2% field goal success rate, and also led
the squad in free throws, with a 77.4% rate ... Was third on the squad with
16 blocked shots ... Ended season with an encouraging outing against New
Mexico in the NCAA Tournament West Regional, when he scored 8 points, and
added a career-high 6 rebounds in 18 minutes of play off the bench ...
Started eight of MU's first 11 games on the year, but came off the bench
after the beginning of conference season ... Scored three points and added a
blocked shot for the Tigers vs. KSU in the Big XII Tournament ... Scored a
career-high 15 points, in just 12 minutes of play, on Dec. 9th vs.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff ... Hit 5-of-7 field goals in that game, and was a
perfect 5-of-5 from the foul line, and added 4 rebounds on the night ... Had
a good outing at Colorado, scoring 6 points and adding 2 rebounds in 9
minutes of play ... Had key performance on Jan. 6th at Kansas State, scoring
7 points and adding 5 rebounds ... Came up with a key three-point play in
the first half which ended an 8-0 KSU run, and extended the MU lead back to
7 points.
IN HIGH SCHOOL - Named third-team St. Louis all-metro, by the St. Louis
Post-Dispatch as a senior ... Averaged 11.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.5
blocked shots per game for senior campaign ... Connected on 56.8 percent of
his field goal attempts during the year, despite being double and
triple-teamed more often than not ... Was an all-district pick as a junior,
averaging 10.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game, and played in
the Nike All-American camp that summer.
