SUNRISE, Ariz. - Former Mizzou baseball standout Brett Nicholas, now in the Texas Rangers organization, was named Most Valuable Player in the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game on Saturday (Nov. 3). Nicholas went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers as he helped the West Team pound out 12 hits, five of which were homers, in a 9-2 win in from of a record crowd of 6,529 fans at Surprise Stadium.

"It feels incredible," Nicholas told MLB.com after the game. "The other part, too, I've got a lot of family and friends here. I'm from Arizona. It's just an incredible experience and it's something I'll remember for the rest of my career."

Nicholas, one of the top prospects in the Texas Rangers organization, homered for the West team's third run to lead off the fourth inning on the first pitch of the at-bat and then added another in the seventh inning, this one coming with two outs. He led all batters with three hits in the game.
