The Mizzou Black team took Game 5 of Mizzou Baseball's Fall World Series 8-5 to claim to series three games to two.

Sophomore Eric Garcia led the Black team with a 3-for-4 night, which included a triple and three RBI. Garcia also pitched the final 1.1 innings for Black, picking up the save.

After teach team scored once in the first inning, the Black team took the lead with a four-run bottom of the second inning, which included an RBI double from freshman Myles Smith and a three-run home run by junior Conner Mach.

Garcia had two-out single in the fourth inning which put Black ahead 6-1.

Gold cut the lead to three after scoring one in the top of the fifth and one in the seventh. The Gold team then scored twice in the top of the eighth inning to pull within one run. Both runs in the eighth scored with two outs as junior Russell LaFleur delivered an RBI double and then scored on a single by sophomore Brannon Champagne.

Black took the lead back to three with a pair of runs in its half of the eighth inning on an RBI single from Mach and a triple by Garcia.

Mach was 2-for-3 with four RBI and finished the Fall World Series with a .571 average.
