BOSTON, Mass. - Mizzou head coach Tim Jamieson and fellow Tigers Dan Pietroburgo and Eric Anderson got a treat on Monday as they were part of the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team that played the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) All-Stars at Fenway Park, the home of Major League Baseball's Boston Red Sox. Team USA lost, 3-2, but allowed just four hits in what was the team's first loss of the summer so far. It had been 3-0 on the season.

The two teams played even at 1-1 until the sixth inning when the NECBL All-Stars scored a pair of runs. It was defense that was the CNT's downfall in the sixth as a key error and a passed ball led to both the runs for the All-Stars. Team USA attempted to rally in the bottom of the sixth as Tyler Naquin (Texas A&M) scored on a fielding error. In fact, the NECBL All-Stars committed three errors in the inning, but a strikeout and a pick-off limited the damage in the inning as Team USA stranded the tying run at third base in the inning.

Team USA continues its trek through New England Tuesday when the club visits the Newport Gulls at Cardines Field. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. ET. Make sure and check for a live stats link pre-game and a full box score and recap at the contest's conclusion. will also have updates from the team as well.
