A pair of Missouri pitchers were named to the 2006 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Midwest Region Team, as announced on Monday. Max Scherzer was a first team selection, while Nathan Culp earned second team honors.

Scherzer finished the season with a 7-3 record and a 2.25 ERA, which was second best in the Big 12 Conference. He was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection this season and was named to the All-Big 12 Tournament Team. He became the first player in Mizzou's history to be taken in the first round of the Major League Baseball Draft, as the Arizona Diamondbacks selected him with the 11th overall pick.

Culp tied a school record with 11 wins on the season, finishing 2006 with an 11-6 record. The 11 wins were tied for the most in the Big 12 Conference this season, as Culp earned All-Big 12 Conference First Team recognition. He recorded a pair of three-hit shutouts on the year and was ninth in the conference with a 3.40 ERA. He was also selected in the 2006 MLB Draft, going to San Diego in the fourth round.

Mizzou finished the season 35-28, advancing to its first-ever Super Regional by winning the NCAA Malibu Regional.
