The University of Missouri has been chosen as one of 16 schools to play host to NCAA Baseball Regional action, as announced today by the NCAA. The 11th-ranked Tiger baseball team, which finished second in the Big 12 Conference this season and sports a 40-16 overall record, will play host to a four-team, double-elimination tournament June 1st-4th at Taylor Stadium, with the winner advancing to a Super Regional site to be determined.
The 64-team field was announced on Monday. Joining the Tigers in the Columbia Regional will be Miami, Louisville and Kent State. Mizzou is the No. 1 seed in the regional and will face Kent State at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Miami and Louisville will play at 1 p.m.

Mizzou is hosting NCAA Tournament action for the first time in over 40 years, with the last instance being in 1965 when MU hosted Saint Louis University in a best-two-out-of-three series.
The Columbia Regional will feature two games each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and if the championship is not decided on Sunday, the if-necessary title game will be played on Monday, June 4th. The first game each day will take place at 1 p.m., with the second game to follow at 6:30 p.m., and the Monday title game set for 1 p.m., barring any adjustments made for potential televised games.
Tickets will be available online at www.mutigers.com beginning Sunday and continuing through Thursday, with online being the only way to get tickets until the ticket office opens up at 8 a.m. (central) on Tuesday, May 29th. Tickets can be ordered in person at the MU Ticket Office at Mizzou Arena, or over the phone (1-800-CAT-PAWS or 884-PAWS in Columbia) from Tuesday through Thursday. Beginning Friday, tickets will only be available in person at Taylor Stadium.
