Mizzou junior Jacob Priday was named the Co-Big 12 Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Last weekend, Priday hit .545 (6-for-11) with three home runs and nine RBI in the Tigers' three-game sweep of Texas Tech.

All six of Priday's hits over the weekend were extra-base hits as he drove in nine runs and scored six in the series.

Priday connected for a two-run home run in the series opener, then had two hits in game two with an RBI triple in the first inning and a two-run double in the third. He finished the weekend with a two-home run game in the series finale. After he drove in a run with a double in the first, he hit a two-run homer in the third inning. Priday then hit his fifth home run of the season to lead off the sixth inning.

For the season, Priday is hitting .289 and is tied for the team lead with five home runs. Over the last seven games, Priday has a .517 batting average with five doubles, two triples and three home runs.

Priday shared this week's award with Blake Stouffer of Texas A&M, who hit .500 with three home runs and nine RBI last week against Baylor.

The award is the second conference award for a Tiger this year, as sophomore Rick Zagone was named Co-Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on April 9.

The Tigers will host Missouri State at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the final home midweek game of the season. This weekend, Mizzou will travel to Austin, Texas to face Big 12 leading Texas in a three-game series. Missouri is in second in the Big 12 with a 12-6 league record and a 31-12 overall mark.
