Tigers On Deck is the new student section for Mizzou Baseball.
April 16, 2012
COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou baseball program is pleased to announce the formation of its new student fan section - Tigers On Deck - which will serve as the official Mizzou student fan section at Taylor Stadium. The student group, which was launched by the baseball program in conjunction with several Mizzou students, hopes to give Taylor Stadium a presence similar to that of the Tigers' Lair at Mizzou football games and the Zou Crew at Mizzou men's basketball games. Follow the group on twitter @MUTigersOnDeck.
The group will make its debut this weekend when the Tigers host Kansas State for a three-game Big 12 series. Fans interested in joining can e-mail the group at MUTigersOnDeck@yahoo.com. Of course, admission to all Mizzou baseball games is free for Missouri students and members of the MU Tigers On Deck will be have access to plenty of amenities, including priority seating in a VIP section entitled `The On Deck Circle' for each game.
On Saturday against Kansas State, the Tigers On Deck will get a chance to show off its stuff as Fox Sports Midwest will televise the game at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to design the best signs that they can to land on television during the game and the fans with the best signs will win a variety of prizes, including Mizzou gear and gift cards to local restaurants.
This launch of Tigers On Deck this weekend will also coincide with the decades theme nights at Taylor Stadium. Each game this weekend will be themed around trends from past decades, beginning with 70s night on Friday before 80s day on Saturday and 90s day on Sunday. Each day, a member of the Tigers On Deck who best resembles a person from those respective decades will win a variety of prizes.
