Mizzou looks to Pack Taylor for Baylor
April 3, 2012
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou baseball returns home this weekend for a three-game series with the Big 12's top team, Baylor, beginning Thursday at 6 p.m. and the Tigers need your support at all three games. The program is offering special promotions this weekend as it looks to `Pack Taylor for Baylor' in hopes of creating a great atmosphere at Taylor Stadium. In fact, all weekend kids 12 and under will get in free and admission is also free of charge to Mizzou students at all three games.
The games will be played at 6 p.m. on Thursday (April 5), 6 p.m. on Friday (April 6) and 11 a.m. on Saturday (April 7). Note: Due to weather, all times subject to change so be sure to check MUTigers.com for any schedule updates. With kids 12 and under receiving free admission, the games are sure to be fun for the whole family as the Kids Zone will be available at all three games. The Kids Zone is the best place for kids to enjoy the game, featuring face painting, posters, games and other memorable experiences and on Friday, Truman the Tiger will be on hand.
The festivities do not end on Friday as Saturday will feature plenty of excitement. With the Easter holiday approaching, all children at Saturday's game will get to participate in an Easter Egg Hunt around Taylor Stadium as each egg will be filled with a prize. Also, the Easter Bunny will be on hand at the game.
The Mizzou baseball team is off to a fast start this season as it currently stands at 16-11 overall while ranking fourth in a talent-filled Big 12 Conference. The Tigers feature one of the league's best offenses as six batters are hitting better than .300 while the middle of the order features two of the Big 12's top four home run hitter in Blake Brown and Dane Opel.
Baylor comes into Taylor Stadium as the nation's hottest teams, winning 11 straight games. The Bears are also the first-ever Big 12 team to win their first nine league games, but this weekend's series marks the Bears' first on the road in Big 12 play.
