Baseball and Softball Host Sixth Annual Clinic

April 2, 2012

COLUMBIA, Mo. - On April 9 and April 16, Heart of Missouri Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) presents the 6th Annual Mizzou Baseball and Softball Clinic for children ages 5-12 to learn hitting, pitching, fielding, and catching skills from members of the Mizzou Baseball and Softball Teams. The event will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Dan Devine Indoor Practice Facility with a special appearance by Truman the Tiger on both nights of the Clinic.

The cost for one night (April 9 or April 16) is $25 and the cost for both nights (April 9 and April 16) is $35 and includes a complimentary event t-shirt and a light snack. Family and friends are welcome to stay for the duration of the Clinic and purchase $5 raffle tickets for prizes including 2 KC Royals baseball tickets, Slackers CDs and Games gift certificates, Tiger Spirit gift cards, and a The Candy Factory gift certificate.

The proceeds from the event will help Heart of Missouri CASA provide trained community advocates to children in the Boone County Family Court System who have been abused and neglected. The growing number of children entering the foster system is straining an already overburdened system, and Heart of Missouri CASA seeks to alleviate the situation and elevate the voice of the child in the court process.
