Five Mizzou baseball players had their names called on day two of the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player's Draft. Seniors Aaron Senne and Michael Liberto and juniors Brett Nicholas, Nick Tepesch and Tyler Clark were among the players drafted on Tuesday in rounds 2-30, after the first round took place on Monday night. The draft will conclude with rounds 31-50 on Wednesday starting at 11 a.m.
Mizzou's Aaron Senne has been named to the Louisville Slugger All-America Third Team, which is selected by the staff Collegiate Baseball newspaper. Senne, who was the Big 12 Conference Co-Player of the Year, hit .400 with 16 home runs, 22 doubles and 59 RBI in 2010. His .400 average was second best in the Big 12 Conference.
Mizzou concluded its 2010 season by claiming a 7-3 win over Texas Tech at the Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Tigers wrapped up play in the conference tournament with a 2-1 record.
Mizzou had its chances of winning a Big 12 Championship come to an end on Thursday night as it fell to Texas A&M by a score of 7-2 at Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. With its victory, Texas A&M clinched the pool win and a spot in Sunday's Big 12 Championship game.
