COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Iowa State used 10 extra-base hits to down the University of Missouri baseball team 12-5 Friday night in the first game of a three-game Big 12 Conference series at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
The Cyclones hit six doubles, two each by Joe Urban and Brent Koen, and four home runs as they had a total of 13 hits in the victory.
Missouri took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a two-out single by Mick Weiss. Weiss' single scored Jon Williams who walked earlier in the inning. However, it would be a long time before Missouri scored again as Iowa State scored the game's next 12 runs.

After a 72-minute rain delay, T.J. Bohn homered to left field to make it 5-1 in the fifth inning.
ISU scored five runs in the sixth inning as Bohn hit a grand slam. The Cyclones eventually took a 12-1 lead in the eighth inning. Missouri got a home run by Mick Weiss, his sixth of the season, to make it 12-2. Wes Fewell singled and stole second base before Luke Cassis had a run-scoring single to right field.
Weiss, Fewell and Laskowski each had two hits for the Tigers.
