Texas A&M Takes Final Game of Series with Tigers

COLUMBIA, Mo.-- - Texas A&M handed Missouri its first series loss of the season, taking a 5-2 win on Sunday in the third game of the three-game set at Taylor Stadium. The Tigers had won it first six three-game series of the season prior to dropping two of three to the Aggies this weekend.

Mizzou falls to 7-5 in the Big 12 Conference and is 25-11 overall, while Texas A&M improves to 8-6 in league play and 30-8 overall on the year.

Texas A&M put the first runs on the board with back-to-back solo home runs by Luke Anders and Craig Stinson in the top of the second inning. The lead was stretched to five as the Aggies scored three times in the fifth, getting a two-run single by Blake Stouffer and an RBI base hit by Anders.

The Tigers had the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, as freshman Trevor Coleman drew a leadoff walk, junior Jacob Priday was hit by a pitch and sophomore Brock Bond singled. Sophomore Kyle Mach then drew a bases loaded walk to drive in Coleman, but Missouri could do no more damage in the inning, stranding the three runners.

In the eighth inning, Mizzou drew another lead off walk, this time from sophomore Ryan Lollis, who later scored the Tigers' second run of the inning.

Mizzou will travel to Springfield, Mo. on Tuesday to face Missouri State at 7 p.m. at Hammons Field. Next weekend, the Tigers will be in Waco, Texas for a three-game series with Baylor.
