The 10th ranked Mizzou Baseball team moved to 2-1 on the season with a 5-3 win over Kennesaw State at the Buccaneer Classic in Charleston, S.C. With the score tied at three, the Tigers plated two runs in the bottom of the eighth and shutdown the Owls in the ninth to take the win.
Freshman Aaron Crow struck out seven in six innings of work, allowing two runs on seven hits in his first collegiate start.
Mizzou loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third inning and scored the game's first run when junior John McKee was hit by a pitch to drive in sophomore Evan Frey, who had walked to lead off the inning. The Tigers added two more runs in the third, including a run scoring on a single by sophomore Jacob Priday.
Kennesaw State responded by putting a run on the board in the top of the fourth inning. That run, which scored on an RBI double by Andy Hudson, was the first earned run allowed by Mizzou this season. The Tiger pitching staff allowed only seven unearned runs through the first 21.1 innings of the season.
The Owls cut the lead to one with a run in the fifth inning, getting another RBI double, this time off the bat of Jacob Robbins. They tied the game in the top of the seventh inning as Matt Dallas singled to drive in Martin Baker, who had reached on an error to lead off the inning.
The Tigers had runners on the corners with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the final out of the inning was recorded when Brock Bond was thrown out trying to steal home on a close play at the plate.
Mizzou loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth inning and scored the go-ahead run when senior Derek Chambers drew a walk to force in Frey. Priday followed with a sacrifice fly driving in senior Trevor Helms to give the Tigers a two-run lead.

Taylor Parker closed out the game by striking out three of the four batters in the top of the ninth inning to pick up the save.
The start of the game was delayed an hour and 35 minutes due to rain in the Charleston area.
