- Compiled a 7-3 overall record with a 1.72 ERA and 55 strikeouts while hitting .394 with a homer and 12 RBI in his senior season at Rock Bridge High School under the instruction of head coach Justin Towe.
- In his career at Rock Bridge, Phillips went 28-7 with a 1.70 ERA and 213 strikeouts while batting .407 with four homers and 57 RBI.
- First team All-District selection in all four years of high school (2009-12) and was a first team All-State honoree in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

- Guided Rick Bridge to a District Championship in in 2009, 2010 and 2012 and Sectional Championships in both 2009 and 2010.
