High School
- Hit .398 with three homers and was a career .382 hitter with 16 home runs in his four year career at Columbia Central High School under the direction of head coach Mark Pickle.
- Advanced Columbia Central to the State Semifinals in his senior season.
- Was an All-District selection from 2007-10 and a 2009 All-Mid-State selection along with a 2009 Junior All-Sunbelt Team selection.
Junior College
- Guided Walters State Community College to a 52-9 overall record in 2012 and finished his two-year stint with the team with a 92-20 overall record.
- Hit .373 with nine homers and 44 RBI in his sophomore season at Walters and finished his two-year career with a .381 average and 12 homers while driving in 89 runs.
- Coached by Ken Campbell while at Walters State.
