High School: Named all-state after hitting .363 with five doubles and two home runs as a senior at Winfield High … was hit by 11 pitches and had a .670 on-base percentage … threw out 24 of 51 attempted base stealers … a first-team all-East Missouri Conference pick in 2001 … played in 2001 Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game … named team’s most valuable player in 2000 as Winfield won district title … a two-time all-conference football player.
