COLUMBIA, Mo. – After a solid showing on Saturday (Oct. 29) at the Big 12 Championships, the Mizzou men’s and women’s cross country teams continue to climb in the polls.

The Tiger women stand fifth in the Midwest Region in the latest rankings, released Monday (Oct. 31) by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Their fourth-place finish at the conference meet helped Coach Rebecca Wilmes’ squad to move up four spots since the previous poll.

Mizzou’s men’s squad, meanwhile, rose six places to seventh in the region after finishing sixth at the Big 12 Championships. Coach Joe Lynn’s group leapfrogged rival Kansas after coming in one spot ahead of the Jayhawks on Saturday.

The Tigers will train in Columbia this week before traveling to DeKalb, Ill., on Nov. 12 for the NCAA Midwest Regional. For the latest news about Mizzou Cross Country, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
