Columbia, Mo. - The Mizzou Men's third place finish at their first SEC Championship meet on Friday bumped them up three spots on the Midwest Regional Rankings, as released this morning by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association).  They are back at No. 5 after being moved down to No. 8 on Oct. 15.  Oklahoma State, who was ranked No. 1 in the last National Poll, tops the list followed by No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 19 Tulsa and Illinois.

The Tigers came out of Friday's Championship with three Second Team All-SEC honors after junior Hayden Legg (Mexico, MO) placed 8th in 24:08, senior Max Storms (Kansas City, MO) 9th in 24:10, and sophomore Bryant Blahnik (Red Wing, MN) 11th in 24:14.  Three freshman also earned honors, as Joe McKenna (Madison, WI), Evan Chiplock (Saginaw, MI), and Tyler Schneider (Schaumburg, IL) took three of the top five spots on the All-SEC Freshman Team.

Both teams are now back in training mode as they prepare for the Nov. 9 NCAA Midwest Regional Championship in Springfield, MO.  The top two teams from each Region automatically qualify for the Nov. 17 NCAA Championship in Louisville, KY, along with 13 additional teams who may be voted in by the USTFCCCA members.
