Columbia, Mo. - Tyler Schneider was recognized as the Cross Country Men's Freshman of the Week on Tuesday by the SEC.  The recognition comes after an impressive start from the Schaumburg, IL, native, as he not only scored in both of the meets thus far for the Tigers, but also currently holds the fastest freshman 8K time, seventh overall, in the SEC.  On Saturday, Schneider dropped 66-seconds off of his debut time at Iowa State to finish 27th at the Greater Louisville Classic in 24:23.54.  He was the third freshman overall in the race, and the second runner in for the Tigers, helping them to a fourth place finish in the highly competitive field.
