Columbia, Mo. - Kaitlyn Fischer and Dan Roe were recognized as the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshmen of the Week, as released today by the league's office.  The honor comes after the teams traveled down to Fayetteville on Friday to take on their first SEC competition against Arkansas.

Fischer led the Tiger women in her debut performance, finishing seventh overall.  Her final time of 14:01 is one of the fastest times ever achieved from a non-Arkansas athlete on the 4k course.

Roe was the first freshman across the line in the men's race, navigating the 6600-meter course in 20:37.2 to place fourth for the Tigers and 11th overall.

Next up for the Tigers is the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, MN, on September 28th.  For the latest on your Tigers, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
