The Mizzou cross country program will continue its run through the postseason as it heads south to Springfield, Mo., to take part in the NCAA Midwest Regional at the Missouri State Cross Country Facility on Saturday (Nov. 14).
Freshman Kaitie Vanatta (Littleton, Colo.) became the first Tiger freshman to take home All-Big 12 honors as she placed 11th overall with a time of 21:48.31 at the 2009 Big 12 Championships, held Saturday (Oct. 31) at A.L. Gusting Golf Course.
Eleven members of the 2009 Mizzou cross country program have earned a spot on the Big 12 Academic All-Big 12 teams, as announced by the league office on Wednesday (Oct. 28).
For the second time in history, AL Gustin Golf Course and the University of Missouri Athletic Department will play host to the Big 12 Cross Country Championships this Saturday.
In its final tune-up before hosting the Big 12 Cross Country Championships, the Mizzou cross country team had a strong showing at the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by Arkansas, on Saturday (Oct. 17). The women placed fourth out of 34 teams with 165 points while the men posted 223 points en-route to placing seventh of 29 teams.
