Sophomore Tyler Schneider paced the Tigers at today's Adidas Invitational
Oct. 19, 2013
COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Tigers closed out a busy weekend today with the Adidas Invitational in Madison, WI. The men hit the course in one of the most competitive meets in the nation and emerged with a 31st-place finish overall. Leading the way for the squad was sophomore Tyler Schneider, who navigated the 8k course in 24:16 for 86th-place. Close behind was senior Hayden Legg, who took 91st with a final time of 24:18.
The next four Tigers packed it up well on the crowded course, as junior Sam Dickerson, freshman T.J. Carey, sophomore Kenny Cushing, and sophomore Evan Chiplock all finished within seven seconds of each other. Freshman Jordan Cook rounded out the Tigers' top seven, followed by fellow-freshmen Drew White and Dan Roe.
The duo of freshmen Ian McGinn and Chandler Dye also did a good job of packing it up, as they finished together to land within the top 40 of the men's open race. They crossed in 25:43 for 37th and 38th overall.
"This was a solid team effort. We need to continue to grow and be confident in how fit we are," said third-year Head Coach Joe Lynn. "We're running right where we were at this point last season and always finish strong, so I expect nothing less from this group."
This was the final weekend of the regular season for the Tigers, and they now look forward to the SEC Championships in two weeks down in Gainesville, FL. For the latest on your Tigers, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
