Cross Country - This was the start to a break-out year for Sam, who placed consistently in the top five for the Tigers throughout the cross country season...He kicked off the year as the fifth finisher for the squad at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., crossing the line in 25:26.70 to place 66th overall on the 8000-meter course...He was the second finisher in black and gold at the following meet, the Notre Dame Invitational, besting his previous time with a 25:24.70 finish...He continued dropping his best mark at the Adidas Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wisc., where he navigated the course in 24:38 for 148th overall, third for the Tigers...Sam ended his season with a pair of PR marks, starting with a career-best 8000-meter run performance at the SEC Championships, where he led the Mizzou men with an 11th-place overall finish in 24:16.27 to earn his first All-SEC Second Team honor...He ended the season with another career-best, this time in the 10,000-meter run, as the fourth Tiger finisher, 54th overall, at the NCAA Midwest Regional, timing in at 31:31.10.
Indoor Track - Dickerson continued to drop PR marks into the indoor season, starting with his mile run performance at the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet where he placed seventh overall with a final time of 4:10.06...He then moved up a race to the 3000-meter run at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., hitting another career-best time of 8:23.33 to place second in the field...Sam ended his season at the SEC Championships, where he qualified for the finals in the mile with another PR mark of 4:08.22 and placed 10th overall.
Outdoor Track - Sam primary event during the outdoor season was the 3000-meter Steeplechase, although he did time in a new PR in the 1500-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invitational (3:46.16)...He kicked off the season with a new PR in the Steeplechase, defending his title at the Crimson Tide Invitational with his 8:51.74 finish...He notched points for the Tigers in the event at the SEC Championships in Lexington, Ky., timing in at 9:06.64 for seventh...Sam closed out his season at the NCAA Championships West Preliminary Round.

Cross Country - Sam was the 12th Tiger in at the season-opening Iowa State Invitational, placing 37th overall in 26:34...Hit his first of two PR's during the season at the Greater Louisville Classic, navigating the 8000-meter course in 25:20.27...His second PR came at the SEC Championships in Nashville, Tenn., where he was the fifth Tiger across the line, 27th overall, in 24:44.52...He finished the season at the NCAA Midwest Regional, timing through the 10,000-meter course in 32:41.17.
Indoor Track - Sam started the season with a PR in the mile, placing fifth at the Missouri Invitational in 4:17.09...His second PR came at the second home meet of the season, the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, where he placed second in the 3000-meter run with a final time of 8:28.85...Ended the season at the SEC Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., where he competed in the 3000-meter run and was part of the eighth-place DMR team.
Outdoor Track - Opened up his season with an exciting performance in the 3000-meter Steeplechase at the Missouri Relays, running under the previous meet record to finish second in 9:16.69...Followed that up with a fifth-place finish in the 1500-meter run at the Arkansas Spring Invitational before dipping below the nine-minute mark in the Steeplechase at the Crimson Tide Invitational, winning the event in 8:56.75...Went on to place 12th at the highly-competitive Mt. SAC Relays, crossing in 9:07.96 for the Steeplechase...Represented the Tigers at home in the SEC Championships in both the Steeplechase and 5000-meter run...Finished the season with one final Steeplechase competition at the NCAA Championships West Preliminary Round.
8000m (XC) - 26:21 | Notre Dame Invite (09/30)
Cross Country - Sam took 28th at the Missouri Cross Country Challenge, finishing the 8000-meter course in 29:15.38...Crossed the line in 26:21 at the Notre Dame Invitational, placing 152nd on the 8000-meter course...Competed at the NCAA Pre-National meet, finishing in 27:02 to earn 206th place...Ended the season with a 77th finish at the Big 12 Championships, running a final time of 26:24.50.
Indoor Track - Redshirted the season and competed unattached at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, placing third in the 3000-meter run (8:46.52).
Outdoor Track - Redshirted the season and competed unattached at the Missouri Relays, winning the 3000-meter Steeplechase in 9:33.41...He also ran in the 1500-meter run at the Relays, finishing 10th with a final time of 4:02.53...Had his second win of the season at the Kansas Relays, where he ran the 3000-meter Steeplechase unattached in 9:29.11.

Sam Ran for Moberly HS under coach Scott Knox, and for the Brocaw Blazers Club...He broke the Moberly HS Record in the 5000-meters his sophomore (16:01) and junior (15:37) year...Earned All-Conference honors (2007-08), and was Conference Champion (2009-10)...Was All-District (2008) and District Champion (2009-10)...Was an All-State athlete for cross country (2009-10)...Conference and District Champion for the 1600-meters, 3200-meters (2010-11), and 4x800-meter relay (2011)...Earned All-State honors for the 1600-meters (2010-11)...He set the MSHSAA Class 3 District 4 Record in the 3200-meters in 2010 (9:41)...Broke the Moberly HS Record in the 1600-meters his junior (4:21) and senior year (4:18).
Parents are Bud and Kim, sister Shannon...Born August 8, 1992...Mother and grandfather are both Mizzou alumni...Sister currently plays soccer at Central Methodist University...Sam was Class Valedictorian and a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council...Founded the Moberly Mayor's Youth Council...He was the Student-Athlete of the Month in November 2008-10, and May 2009-11...He was a four-time Conference Academic Excellence Award recipient...KRCG Television Student-Athlete of the Week (November 2010)...He served as the Cross Country SAAC Representative...Dean's List honoree (Fall 2011, Spring 2012)...Is studying Biomedical Engineering at Mizzou.
