Tigers Track Lands 2nd in SEC for APR Score

June 20, 2013

Columbia, Mo. - The Tigers posted perfect scores of 1000 for the 2011-12 school year in the latest APR (Academic Progress Rates) Report, released by the NCAA last week.  The squads ranked second in the SEC for their multi-year scores, averaged out over the 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, and 2011-12 school years.  Both teams earned near-perfect numbers with the men earning 983 points and the women 996 points.

The NCAA began releasing their APR Reports in 2004, meant to measure the academic progress and perfomance of their member institutions.  Points are awarded according to the academic eligibility and retention/graduation of student-athletes.

The Cross Country squads also put up good numbers, ending out the 2011-12 year with perfect scores and coming in at 996 and 989 for the men and women, respectively.  The men are ranked second in the SEC, the women ninth.  All four teams measured in well over the Division I averages.
