Fayetteville, Ark. - Senior Dan Quigley delivered quite the performance tonight as he raced to the Tigers' first outdoor school record of the season, just nudging out his previous record by 0.02 seconds.  Quigley finished second in his heat, 12th overall for collegiate competitors, of the 5,000m run at the Stanford Invitational in California, crossing in 13:55.44 to beat out his record performance of 13:55.46 from the Mt. SAC Relays last year.  This time would have put him at the top of the NCAA rankings for Division I last week.

Back on the East side of the country, the Tigers had their first taste of competition at the Razorback Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, AR, with the men's and women's hammer throw.  Sophomore Brian Duncan returned from his win at the Missouri Relays last weekend with a second place finish in tonight's competition, hitting a top mark of 60.02m (196-11).  Senior Jacob Bullinger finished third in his first competition of the outdoor season, and marked in at 57.92m (190-00).

Sophomore Kearsten Peoples also took a second place finish in the hammer throw, making her top mark of 55.53m (182-02) on her third attempt.  Junior Bethany Pfeiffer returned from her Missouri Relays win with a fourth place finish at 53.39m (175-02), and senior Cortni Ervin placed seventh with a 52.50m (172-03).  Junior Katie Evans came out of the night with a new PR in the hammer throw of 50.52m (165-09), placing first in her flight.

Competition for the Tigers in Arkansas continues tomorrow, starting at 9:30 a.m. with the men's discus.  For the latest on your Tigers, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
