Missouri Relays '07 Field Will Be Largest Ever

COLUMBIA, Mo.--The University of Missouri track and field teams will host the 8th Annual Missouri Relays, starting Friday with over 1,900 athletes in attendance. The largest Missouri Relays field ever will feature 15 NCAA Division I colleges and over 30 high schools. In addition, colleges and universities from all divisions of track and field will be on hand for a two-day festival of the sport.

Breaking Down the Field

The 2007 Missouri Relays, featuring over 1,900 athletes from both the collegiate and high school ranks, will showcase all divisions of collegiate track and field including NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and NJCCA (junior colleges). The 2006 field featured 1,500 athletes and the 2005 field had 1,000 athletes.

Upon further investigation here's some more good news from last weekend at Arizona State!:

 

* Sophomore Ben Wade got off to a fast start in the desert ... he shaved seven seconds off his PR in the 1500 in clocking 3:53.80, coming back later in the night to run four seconds off a PR in the 800 (1:55.62).

 

* Sophomore JaNay Woolridge jumped into Mizzou's all-time top 10 in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a 14.42 personal best
